Nationalmuseum is looking for a Responsible Salesperson
The position is a fixed-term employment of 50% for 6 months. Working hours include Thursday evenings and every fourth weekend according to a schedule. Start date is negotiable.
Nationalmuseum is Sweden's museum of art and design and a government authority with the task of promoting art. The collections include painting, sculpture, miniatures, crafts, design, drawings, graphic prints, and portrait photography. In total, the collections consist of approximately 700,000 objects from the 16th century to the present day. Nationalmuseum aims to create meaningful encounters between people and art and constantly explore what makes the museum relevant to our time. In this way, we strive for the museum as a meeting place to be perceived as valuable for both new and existing target groups.
We are looking for someone who wants to be an active part of the visitor experience as a Responsible Salesperson at Nationalmuseum's Sales Unit. We create meaningful meetings between art and people, and the staff is key to the visitor reception. Therefore, great importance is placed on personal qualities.
Your main responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and lead sales staff in the public operational areas.
- Be responsible for the public reception in the museum building. Ensure that general visitor areas create a welcoming impression.
- Act as a contact point between security, restaurant, front environment, and other functions at the museum.
- Facilitate and sell tickets, exhibition catalogs, merchandise, and related products.
- Staff the museum's information points.
- Act as a host in connection with temporary programs, exhibitions, and other events.
- Ensure the replenishment and provision of visitor-promoting materials and store products.
- Conduct visitor surveys according to set instructions.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in hospitality within the visitor industry
- Previous experience working within a government authority or administration
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Meritorious
- Knowledge of cash and booking systems Winpos and Blåboken
- Good knowledge of a third language in addition to Swedish and English
- Experience in a supervisory role within the visitor industry
- Knowledge of and interest in art and design
